The Latin American Relief Fund aids those fleeing violence by providing financial assistance to a migrant shelter, Albergue ABBA in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. ABBA means "father" in Hebrew and symbolizes the caring nature of its founder, Protestant Pastor Ignacio Martínez Ramírez, who offers to all migrants a temporary stay with meals, in a safe environment. While there migrants receive medical and psychological assistance, and in addition, they are provided with information on applying for asylum in Mexico.

The Latin American Relief Fund(LARF) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization registered in Portland Oregon, with a board of directors from 5 different states in the US and all living part or full-time in Mexico.
Our mission is to support the human rights and dignity of migrants and refugees fleeing violence, poverty and global climate change by assisting Albergue ABBA, a migrant shelter in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. LARF provides funds for utilities, food, and other necessities for the day-to-day operations of the shelter.
They need help now finding a place where they can live in peace, find jobs and raise their children for a better future. The process of gaining asylum is complicated. ABBA is a place where they can get help.
OUR FUTURE DREAM
LARF hopes to help Pastor Ignacio set up regular classes for the migrants by which they can learn English, study a craft or trade , learn some computer skills and fill their time during their stay with stimulating activity. Have an idea? Get in touch with us.
We've raised the money to buy Albergue ABBA but the work is not complete. Necessary renovations and continued maintenance mean ongoing expenses. Together, we can help preserve the dignity, safety and human rights of so many who are often forgotten.
LARF is a US 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
One hundred percent of the profits earned from the sale of this ring will be donated to LARF helping people in crisis, the migrants.
As Eduardo Galieno, noted Latin American author, once said, we can
"Many small people, in many small places, doing many small things that change the face of the world."
